Very Disappointed with the Freezer

I bought the LG French Door Double Freezer Model #LMWC23626 October 2021. I had no issues with it until August 2023. That was when the bottom freezer door started getting ice along the edges inside. This is a frost-free Freezer supposedly. I finally had to chip the ice off so the door would close properly. There was only a 1 yr warranty from the store. I did register it on-line but dont know if that gives me extra coverage or not. Its a beautiful fridge and I love everything else about it but am very disappointed that it ices up. I wish I had read reviews addressing this problem before I purchased it. Buyer Beware.

compressor constantly ran

bought this in Feb 2021. started off by having bad compressor vibrations several times/week. support didnt do anything about them so it continued for a year or so. then compressor started to run ALL THE TIME. it got noisier over the months and was unbearable. In Fall 2022 had service on it about 3 times over 2 months replacing compressor other parts. one repair resulted in total cooling system failure. final repair fixed cooling issue but compressor again started to run constantly. Finally in 8/2023 I reported again to LG and they gave refund. Exactly 1 week later the whole unit died with a smoking controller board. this thing is total junk. countless hours of wasted electricity and noise mentally draining levels from compressor running constantly over the years.

Overall like it. Do not like the left door Closeout to right door does not always swing open. If right door is opened and then left the panel is in the way and we have to close the left door first - should not have to worry about which door was opened first.

I have only had the refrigerator for 5 months and it has already failed. The condenser fan has stopped running and the compressor is not working. I have been dealing with LG support for over 2 weeks to get this resolved and nothing has been done. To say this is bad service is an understatement.

I came home from vacation to find everything in my 2 1/2 year old freezer had thawed and ice cream and ice had melted all over the freezer drawer. I had to throw away all of the food. I called the store where I bought the refrigerator/freezer. I was told it was no longer under warranty and to call a repair person. He came out and was not there more than 5 minutes. He told me that it was under warranty and charged me $65.00 but thankfully did tell me to call LG. He showed me the 800 phone number is listed inside the refrigerator door. LG sent out a certified technician who replaced the compressor. Technician was great. He answered all of my questions and was very professional. Problem I now have is the bottom drawer builds up ice and every time I open that drawer ice cube size chunks of ice fall onto my floor which I then have to clean up.

We especially like the two-compartment freezer because different food items can be divided rather than cramming everything in one drawer. Ive had the refrigerator for a year now. I like the design of it as far as ease of use. I dont like it i if its going to lead to frequent ice build up. i was told that the refrigerator needs quite a bit of air around it to operate properly. If this is true then Im very unhappy with this refrigerator. i have the kitchen designed for it to look built in between cabinets. i was not told anything like that at the time of sale. i dont like the fact that my refrigerator became packed with ice and required replacement parts to to be installed.

Bought this fridge a few years ago and it has been great. We needed a countertop depth fridge and wanted something that was easy to clean. Love the water dispenser being on the inside of the fridge. I bought this during a new home build. After many long months the refrigerator was installed last year 2022. The bottom freezer drawer acted slightly hard to open. After a few months use over 1 year later the freezer drawer freezes shut and is very hard to open and close. It is not under warranty. Im in the process of hiring someone to repair/replace the broken freezer drawer. If it cant be fixed I will have to defrost it continuously to keep it slightly functional.

Our initial month comments after living with an excellent KitchenAide similar size unit. This model is unique with the dual freezer doors ice on the top and longer storage underneath. The unit is with the linear compressor and our has been quiet with only the ice maker being a bit noisy when ejecting the ice. Open up the refrigerator top doors and the inside if flooded with the bright LED lights and seems to have very deep storage for gallon jugs in the door shelves. A surprise with this model is the doors open almost within the 37-inch space recommended as a minimum. The larger CD model boasting 25+ cubic feet requires more width for the door opening due to hinge points and deep door storage. The unit could be a 5-star but does have several weak points to make that top of the class rating. Inside water is limited to about 20oz and is not that cold Inside showing 37-deg F Door storage is not very adjustable in height or position. It would be nice to have a few optional spacing for your choice not the LG designers. Lower pull out shelf is a bit tight compared to others brands about 3-1/2 inch tall inside the tray. Crispers are only 5-1/2 inch tall but work well never have tried to adjust the temps Upper section is about 24-inches to work with but the shelf placement is frustrating. The lowest shelf bracket cannot be used by a shelf it lacks the support on the sides for that low center post LG when even put it in? Again the LG Design team does not give extra supports in the sides but then again your locked into two more shelves left and right inside the frigerator upper. Biggest gripe is the ice maker is just slow even with pressing the Ice Plus button. Ours does not seem to work the 3-hours to produce colder temps in the freezer to make more ice. I am acceptable with the price/performance of this special unit by LG for the counter depth option I needed for our kitchen. It is a solid option for this need and I hope LG does prove their linear compressor can perform too soon to comment. I purchased this unit at Home Depot during a tax free weekend.

We finally bought our first home and bought our first refrigerator. It was supposed to be brand new and needs 3 repairs. Our food started going bad within a week and we did not notice right away that air was coming out of the door that needed to be replaced. They replaced the door as they were not willing to provide a refund or exchange and the new door is cracked and torn. It has been difficult getting help and support from LG. We purchased through home depot but their policy for a refund is you have to let them know within 48 hours...again it was hard noticing the issue until our food has been going bad.

This fridge was delivered April 24 2023 and because our house is under renovations we did not immediately run the water line or hook it up. When we finally plugged this up a little more than a month later we got an error message on the display the fridge was not getting cold at all. We contacted customer service and it really should be renamed something other than customer service it is so difficult getting to a live person. However Ill remind you that this is a BRAND NEW item never been used or could be used for that matter. Once we spoke to someone they scheduled us for a service appointment which was almost 2 weeks out. They dont work on weekends and once the service person did some he had to install a new compressor on a brand new never used refrigerator Thats upsetting and I can only imagine there will be trouble up the road but thankfully we purchased the insurance I can not review this item any further than appearance with it looks nice and is very spacious other than that idk about the performance as we still haves used it due to the property being in the final renovation stage. Im addition I will not do another one of their surveys as it is too did to save without a display name

We bought this refrigerator brand new a little over two weeks ago. Our food started to go bad after a few days and we couldnt figure out why until we felt air coming out of the doors. Its something you dont notice right away. We have tried for weeks to get help to exchange it but at this point we just want a return and do not want to go through LG anymore. They want someone to come out and service it which we had two people come out already stating its a manufacture issue and the door does not seal properly. They tell us we didnt call within 24-48 hours to report it but again it is not an issue you realize right away. I have tried to call LG and Home Depot several times and they said we are not eligible for a return or exchange. We are bummedour first house and first refrigerator that we have bought and it is not a good experience. The drawer in the freezer is also bent and it is leaking as there is ice around the freezer

Very happy with new LG refrigerator thus far only been a couple weeks Only issue was the installers did not get the water filter fully screwed on and the water and ice tasted horrible the first week until resolved turned about a 1/4 turn more clockwise. Great capacity in refrigerator Runs very quiet

One bothersome thing

I bought this LG since it was about the only refrig that was big enough for my needs and also fit under my kitchen cabinets everything else was too tall or too deep. So I had a very limited selection. Overall the unit is fine. It has plenty of room and so far seems to keep things at the right temperature. However it has a really annoying hum and buzz which drives me crazy. There are times seldom that it seems not to hum but more often than not it is always making that noise. It is not related to the ice maker turned off or the water dispenser since I use neither of those features. I am going to guess that the noise might be considered normal in the eyes of LG or a repair person but to me its not normal. Because a quiet refrigerator is important to me and the noise is annoying I am disappointed with this purchase.
